To ensure that your song meets the digital stores’ requirements and gets a smooth release, we’ve put together a high level list of things that you should consider:

  • COVER ART images cannot be or contain:
    - Poor quality, such as being blurry or pixelated
    - Misaligned or oddly rotated
    - Include retailer, trademark and/or brand logos, including on clothing
    - A track-list
    - Include any pricing tags or any references to physical or digital packaging
    - URLs or QR/barcodes
    - Pornographic or any offensive imagery or symbolism

    COVER ART images must meet the following format requirements:
    - JPG or PNG
    - Aspect ratio 1:1 (i.e. a perfect square)
    - At least 3000 x 3000 pixels

  • AUDIO FILES cannot be or contain:
    - Poor quality, such as any unintentional broken or distorted audio
    - Uneven volume level across the track(s)
    - Silence at the beginning or end of the song longer than 3 seconds

    AUDIO FILES must meet the following format requirements:
    - WAV or FLAC
    - 2 channels (i.e. stereo)
    - Sample size 24 bit
    - Sample rate 44.1 kHz

  • TITLES must follow these rules:
    - Titles must be spelled exactly the same way on the cover art and on metadata level
    - Titles must not include additional information such as role, date, instrument, etc.
    - Titles must not include standard references such as "Original" or “Unreleased”
    - Use the abbreviations “Pt.” and “Vol.” instead of “Part” or “Volume”
    - Titles must not include references to “feat.” artists - this is handled automatically
    - Unusual symbols such as < > | @ { } ; ” = ^ are not allowed
    - For titles in English the following words must always be lowercase: a, an, as, at, and, but, by, for, from, in, into, nor, of, off, on, onto, or, out, over, so, the, to, up, yet and with
    - The following common words must always be uppercase within titles: Are, If, Is, It, Than, That, This
    - Despite of the above rules always capitalize the first and last word within a title
    - Titles must not be all lowercase, uppercase or have random casing
